Taking a look at the price point for something similar (Girl Scout Cookies), I know the volume required is much higher, but I can't help but think those things must sell themselves at a quarter of the entry price as our popcorn. That's not really a healthy interaction, and there's only so many years you can hit up your family for the majority of the sales. I almost feel like most people make a purchase out of guilt because they already approached the scout and don't want to disappoint him. I honestly feel bad for our boys when they have these interactions with 'customers', since it so quickly goes from positive to a reluctant sale. I understand that only a fraction of that money is for the product and that most of the money goes towards scouting, but the sticker shock is a hurdle EVERY year. As I'm transitioning into my role as CC I'm going to be taking a hard look at finding an alternative.įirst, the pricing is extremely difficult to get past. We've been in two Packs now, both of whom sold a TON of popcorn and used this as either their only or their primary fundraiser. ![]()
